I first joined the hobby and the LCNWBS in August 1994. I also joined my local club Warrington BS at this tima and became its treasurer from 1997 - 2002. I joined South West Lancs BS in 2001. I have served as publicity officer vice chairman and assistant open show manager for SWLBS. I am currently the clubs secretary and vice chairman.

I would like to see our area show better supported, as a lot of work and effort goes into it, that many people are not aware of. If we don't get it right I'd like to think that exhibitorswould let us know. I'd also like to see more exhibitorsstewarding at the shows in general, as many hands make light work and one gains an insight into show and judging procedures.

Elaine Walmsley

I started with budgerigars in the mid 80's. My first local club was Accrington Budgerigar Society to which I was a founder member. Accrington B.S folded in the early 90's so I found myself at a bit of a loose end until I heard of Burnley B.S. I joined Burnley B.S in the early 90's & went into partnership with Ken Walmsley. Unfortunately Burnley B.S also folded around 2004/5.

We also joined Clitheroe B.S in the early 90's. Myself & Ken were show secretaries for a number of years then I became Secretary which I have been doing now for about 7 years. Clitheroe B.S is a very friendly club & that's what I like about it.

Ken Walmsley

I started with budgies in the early 80's. The first club I joined was Accrington B.S. When Accrington folded I joined Burnley B.S. As a beginner I won Best in Show at the beginner's open show which was judged by G.Corser.

While being a member of Burnley B.S I also joined Clitheroe B.S. With Elaine we moved up to Champion in 2006.
Best wins last year were Best in Show at Gt. Eccleston judged by H.Riley & we also got Best Opaline Grey-Green cock at Southport Lancs & Cheshire show.
